How She Lost Me!

Last night several of my clients put together a 100 pound party for a lady I will continue to call “Client Wow”.  We celebrated the fact that she has now lost over 100 pounds!  During the celebration I pulled out Client Wow’s starting measurements. . .and I fit inside the tape measure with her!  So how in the world did she accomplish losing an entire person worth of weight? (She lost me!)  The answer to that would take an entire book to write (I know of a good one by the way!).  But today I want to focus on one important key.  Support.

This blog is not as much about Client Wow as it is about the great people that have walked and are walking the journey with her.  Ever heard the saying that there is strength in numbers?  100% true.  My ladies have been an amazing source of support and accountability for one another.  They work-out together, exchange recipes, exhort, and even rebuke one another when necessary.  They are all working to the same common goal.  Health and long life.  I have watched them cry together in the hard times, and rejoice together in the good times.  All of them came together to help Client Wow celebrate not just with a party, but with a complete makeover!  These women amaze me; I am so blessed to work with them.

As you must be excepting by now, I have a spiritual tie in!

Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two people can accomplish more than twice as much as one; they get a better return for their labor. 10 If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble. 11 And on a cold night, two under the same blanket can gain warmth from each other. But how can one be warm alone? 12 A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

Wisdom for the ages!  No matter what the struggle is in life, we need each other to walk hand in hand in both the good and bad times.

Hebrews 10:25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near.

Relationship and communion with other believers is something God has always intended.  We need each other.  Sometimes to comfort, sometimes to laugh, sometimes to rebuke.  Whatever place we are in life and whatever struggles we may have, we need each other.  Client Wow may have reached her goal had she taken lonely walks by herself day after day.  But I guarantee her choice to surround herself with a team of likeminded people made the journey better.  She may have “lost” me. . .but she gained a whole team of support. . . Being accountable and vulnerable is hard, but worth it.  Besides. . . .

We all need someone to cheer for us when we cross the finish line!
